KSJ celebrates cultural heritage and community progress at 4th AGM
JAMMU, Jan 19: The Kishtwari Sangathan Jammu (KSJ) marked a significant milestone today with the successful conclusion of its 4th Annual General Meeting (AGM). Held at the Government Polytechnic College, Bikram Chowk, the event brought together a large assembly of the Kishtwari diaspora to celebrate their unique cultural identity and strategize for future community welfare.
The meeting featured an influential panel of leaders and civil servants who shared insights on governance, community service, and cultural pride:
Chief Guest Sh. Ram Sevak, Guests of Honours Abhishek Sharma (IAS): Deputy Commissioner, Rajouri, Anmol Rathore (IAS): Renowned civil servant and community role model and
Sandeep Wazir (IPS), Senior police officer.
The event opened with a warm welcome address by A.K. Sen, Chairman of the Sangathan. He emphasized that the strength of the Kishtwari community in Jammu lies in its unity and the preservation of its ancestral roots.
Sh. Bhola Nath Bhandari, President of KSJ, presented the comprehensive Annual Report, highlighting the organization’s active role in:
Launching social initiatives for the underprivileged.
Providing support systems for the elderly within the diaspora.
Mentorship programs for Kishtwari youth pursuing education and careers in Jammu.
He reiterated Sanghtan commitment for Building of Mata Ashtdasha bhuja Sarthal Devi ji Mandir with a KSJ Office and Vedic Centre cum Hostel in Jammu.
”Our goal remains to provide a platform where our traditions are celebrated and the grievances of our people are addressed collectively,” stated Sh. Bhola Nath Bhandari.
In a vibrant display of regional heritage, the meeting featured a traditional dance performance by the people of Paddar. The performance was a highlight of the afternoon, underscoring the Sangathan’s commitment to keeping the diverse folk arts of the Kishtwar region alive.
The AGM concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Rajinder Singh Sen, former President of the Sangathan. He extended his gratitude to the dignitaries for their presence, the college administration for the venue, and the community members whose record-breaking attendance signaled the growing influence of the organization.
