“Raid 2” Film Review:

“A sharp, high-stakes thriller that expands the world of honest rebellion against powerful corruption.”

Raid 2 directed by Raj Kumar Gupta, Set in the late 1980s. Raid 2 continues the story of IRS officer Amay Patnaik (Ajay Devgn), who is transferred once again this time to confront Dada Bhai (Riteish Deshmukh), a widely respected but deeply corrupt politician known for his Robin Hood image. What begins as an intelligence tip-off turns into a tense, strategic raid with national implications, testing the limits of bureaucracy, integrity, and the personal toll of fighting systemic corruption.

Ajay Devgn’s Return as Amay Patnaik Still calm, razor-sharp, and quietly intense. Devgn carries the film with moral gravitas, making honesty feel heroic without chest-thumping speeches.

Riteish Deshmukh as the Antagonist This is a career-defining role for Deshmukh. His portrayal of Dada Bhai is chilling/charming on the surface, but ruthlessly manipulative beneath. He’s a perfect ideological and psychological counterweight to Devgn’s character.

Well- timed entry of supporting cast with their powered performance hold the audience though the plot largely follows expected beats with less surprise and grit than the original Raid. Yashpal Sharma, Amit Sial, Shruti Pandey, Brijendra Kala, Supriya Pathak adds levity and authenticity, while Saurabh Shukla makes a solid appearance. Vaani Kapoor’s role, though limited and, avoids melodrama and serves the narrative well.

Raj Kumar Gupta keeps the film grounded in realism but with a tighter pace than the first Raid. There’s more tension, tighter writing, and more political drama.

Raid is a smart, tightly written thriller that works more like a chess match than a fistfight. It’s not loud or flashy, but it delivers an engaging, satisfying tale of one honest man standing up to a rotten system and doing it with calm, focused resolve.
