PDP President Mehbooba Mufti Rules Out Alliance with BJP in Jammu and Kashmir
Srinagar, September 3, 2024 — On Tuesday, Mehbooba Mufti, President of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), firmly ruled out any potential alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Jammu and Kashmir. She emphasized that forming a government after the assembly elections would be impossible without her party’s involvement.
Addressing party workers at the PDP headquarters in Srinagar, Mufti also criticized the National Conference (NC), accusing them of participating in elections merely for the purpose of government formation. “They have been doing so since 1947. They have no aim other than forming alliances for the sake of government formation and ministerial positions,” she stated.
Mufti’s comments underscore the PDP’s position on maintaining its independent stance and highlight her criticism of the NC’s political strategies.
