Former MP Dhananjay Singh Cross-Examined in Gangster Case

23 October 24 Varanasi : In connection with a case under the Gangster Act registered at Cantt police station, former MP from Jaunpur, Dhananjay Singh, appeared in court on Wednesday. The cross-examination took place before the Additional District Judge (13th), where Dhananjay Singh, the complainant in the 2002 Nadesar shooting incident, was questioned by the defense counsel representing the accused, Sandeep Singh and Sanjay Singh Raghuvanshi.

The cross-examination could not be completed, and the court has scheduled the next hearing for Thursday.

The case dates back to October 4, 2002, when a life-threatening attack was carried out on then-MLA Dhananjay Singh near Taksal Cinema Hall in Nadesar. The incident had sent shockwaves through political circles and the police department. Following the attack, Dhananjay Singh lodged a complaint accusing Gosai Ganj MLA Abhay Singh, MLC Vineet Singh, Sandeep Singh, Sanjay Raghuvanshi, Vinod Singh, Satendra Bablu, and several unidentified individuals of orchestrating the attack.
